Panchayat begins campaign for Clean Kangundi to Welcome Bouldering, Climbing & Rappelling Tourists
A positive change is underway in the quiet serene inselberg village of Kangundi; people have got together to take the first baby step towards bouldering/ climbing tourism i.e., make Kangundi clean cum litter, plastic and graffiti free.
Under the leadership of Shri PS Munirathnam Garu (FaceBook) of Telugu Desam Party (Twitter/X), Prof Chokkalingam (FaceBook & Instagram) Garu, Prof Shyamala Garu of Dravidian University (website) and Sarpanch Dhanasekhar Garu (FaceBook), people of Kangundi have initiated a Swachh Kangundi Campaign to rid their village of litter, plastic, and graffiti. The role of social media influencers like Vicky (FaceBook & Instagram) in this has been very supportive.
The next steps after achieving Swachh Kangundi are to educated and train people as host of homestays and as guides and emergency aid workers of bouldering, climbing and rappelling.
